I was explaining to She-Ra over lunch/snack yesterday my severe aversion to items coming into contact with my neck.
"I don't like close-fitting necklaces for that reason. I can handle a neck massage as long as I am only touched in the back of my neck. If there is any massaging on the side, I can only handle one side at a time. My mother used to put her fingers under my chin to make me look at her and I can't handle that feeling."
"That's funny," She-Ra responded. "Now, if you believed in reincarnation, it could be said that in a former life you were were strangled!"
We laughed, and then the conversation turned to my Mother's Day gifted broomstick (insert witchy laugh again here). Then She-Ra giggled and said, "I know. You were a Salem witch..."
"...and instead of being burned at the stake I was strangled to death!" I finished her sentence.
So here follow a couple of fun questions:
Do you have any odd hang-ups that could point to you in a "past life?"
Do any of your hang-ups indicate your possible fate in that past life?
I look forward to your answers! Have fun!

OK, since you asked. I have always had a horrible fear of industrial areas of citys. Can't stand them. I had many dreams when I was younger that I was driving my car, and was murdered in an industrial area near Long Beach. Weird huh? I know one time after I had these dreams many times, I was visiting a friend in Long Beach and turned on some road down by the docks and literally got the shivers. I'm not sure what that means, but I don't discount that could be some past life thing. Who knows?
ResponderEliminarOooo OC...now THAT is a good one.
ResponderEliminarMaybe it's just what those big industrial areas are doing to US that gives you those shivers! :) Seriously, I understand and know what you mean. It is just too strange when there are certain fears/aversions whose basis we cannot explain, no?
Be well, OC.
Thanks for the message love - still feel a little low here - your words make me feel better
ResponderEliminarAh Brad...you take care of YOU.
ResponderEliminarBig hugs to you.
I always have feared being in a self defense situation with a gun and having it misfire, or malfunction on me right when I despirately need the weapon to fire.
ResponderEliminarIn one dream I had, I actually threw the pistol I was trying to fire at the attacker like a rock!
Either that, or having the bullets fired into the target not stop it, and running out of ammunition.
You, as a witch Mapi? No way....
Odd...
Oooo, Windy. That is a good one, too. I have had dreams similar but nothing that translates into "real-life" state.
ResponderEliminarAh yes, I am Witch. Sometimes with a capital "B." And proud of it! ;) You are just getting to know me, dahlin'!
Have a great day!
My life is an odd hangup lately.
ResponderEliminarI've always been afraid of the apocolypse. Can't watch movies about it, can't read anything about it and when I was 10 I was positive that the second coming was going to happen and I would be left behind while my mom and dad would be taken.
But really, I have horrible traffic karma. I can drive to an intersection and not see one car the entire time I'm looking at it until I get there. And then the entire county needs to go through.
That and whenever I'm late I always get behind someone driving at least 10 miles under the speed limit.
I think I'm supposed to learn patience.
Interesting, Z. Maybe you were one of those stand-in-the-intersection traffic cops in a past life...!
ResponderEliminarOr a cow in India. All cars stopped for you...now you must stop for all cows.
:) Hope you are having a better day, darling!
I am just like you Mapi - I cannot bear to have the front of my neck touched. It sends shivers down my spine and brings me up in goosebumps. I don't mind scarves or roll necked sweaters ... but someone touching me there sends me into a kind of panic. (I don't know that I believe in former lives though.)
ResponderEliminarIts not exactly a fear...but whenever I hear seagulls I am almost OVERWHELMED with the feeling of sadness. To the point where I have to just get away. The sound of the ocean bothers me too...makes me feel very uneasy. However I love to swim and am not afraid of the water at all. So, I think...if I did live another life...that something horribly sad happened to me or to someone I loved and it has to do with the ocean. When I was small I was absolutely mesmerized by an old painting my parents had of a peasant woman looking out to sea, hand shading her eyes, in search of .... something. One feels it may be her lover's boat. Somehow...just by the colors and the gloomy shades of the painting..you just KNOW that something has happened to him. I still have that old painting but its stored as it needs reframing. Interesting...no?
