NEE-NUR NEE-NUR NEEEEE-NUR!

I finished my taaaa-xes. Ha ha ha!

And you probably did not.

Be honest. Have you even LOOKED at your pile of papers from 2007 yet?

(feeling a wee bit self-righteous tonight)

Sorry. That is why I am Me. Too anal to wait until the last minute. Just can't do it. Plus, I am livin' for that refund, baby, albeit considerably less this year due to my self-employment.

But when you pay (gasp) 16,000$ in mortgage interest in a year (OUCH!), you're bound to get something back.

(BIG GRIN)

Now I get a glass of wine, just for finishing everything up. Gotta love TurboTax!

  1. Not to boast, but I did my taxes two weeks ago and already have my refund in my savings account.... not that it's much this year since my son turned 17 and I lost the child tax credit. But it's certain better than paying!

  2. Yay, Annabel!!! Good for you!

To be honest, I would have had them done a couple of weeks ago had it not been for some errors in W2s and a missing 1099 I was still waiting on.

Hope you are well and hopefully had some good rest this weekend.

    Be well...

  4. Mapi - You have poured out your heart in your latest posts ... my heart responds in return. You need a hug! and I wish I could give you one. I think of you often and wish only good things for you and those you love. There is a Maori saying: kia (pronounced key-ah) kaha (pronounced 'k-ah-ha) and it means Remain Strong. So, kia kaha my friend.

  6. Hi, Piercing:

I am a huge Coehlo fan. His existential writing really makes me think. I absolutely loved The Alchemist.

    Hi, Chief:

Kia 'kaha. I love that and live to learn phrases as such. I learn so much from you! I am ready for Spring. I am ready for warmth of body and spirit and soul to once again overtake me. I know I will feel much better and will have a greater tolerance for All things once Spring truly arrives.

    Alas, it is still Winter.

    Be well, both.

  7. OMG. No I haven't done my taxes yet but that's because I had to pay for my flippin tooth first. Last year it cost about $165 to get my taxes done. I'm looking for about the same this year. Which reminds me I have to call and make an appointment. I don't trust myself enough to do my own.

But everything is in a folder labeled Taxes. :)

What an incredible amount of mortgage interest you paid! I thought mine was high.

  8. Yeah, taxes are a pain in the royal butt. But at least I know basically what I'm doing and it costs less than hiring someone to do it.

High interest is THE reason why I am DROWNING in a mortgage...and the interest is 30 years locked at a nice, low rate with no points. Part of the benes (¿!) of living in This Particular Metro area...although it's sounding like almost any Metro area is like this now.
